Pootler’s Blog Hop – Stampin’Up! Fabulous Flora Hello Card

Thank you for joining us for The Pootler’s Blog Hop! We’re so excited to be sharing this hop with you.  The products used are all from the new 2016/2017 Annual Stampin’ Up!® Catalogue.  Simply use the buttons at the bottom of the post to keep hopping!

I decided to make a clean and simple card for today’s blog hop using the Hostess Exclusive Fabulous Flora stamp set. This stamp set is my favourite from this years choice and I decided straight away these would be perfect for watercolouring with Rose Red ink.

First, I stamped all my images onto shimmery white cardstock with Black Tuxedo Memento Ink (perfect for watercolouring) and then used Rose Red ink on the flowers. I did a light wash first and then built up my layers. The same was done for the leaves with Old Olive and Garden Green.

I then trimmed them all out and placed them on one of our Whisper White notecards. I stuck them down with a minimal amount of Tombow (this is a very strong glue once it’s dry). As the glue only went in ‘strategic’ places, the edges of the flowers and foliage rise up slightly – it give the look of dimension whilst keeping it flat.

Next came the burlap ribbon (I used Fast Fuse for that) and then stamped the Hello from the set and trimmed it into a banner.

To finish the card I outlined with a project life journaling pen (nib size 5 from the pack two).

I find the hostess exclusive stamps are missed out or overlooked far too often. I always remind my hostess’s of them when they are choosing their stampin’ rewards after their party. You can also claim one of the hostess exclusive stamp sets from an individual order over £150 (the order must not be connected to any party). This fact is not too well known and my guess is that’s why they can be overlooked.

I hope you enjoyed today’s card – I will be filming a tutorial on how to make it. If you don’t want to miss it, then please subscribe to my blog on the right.
